Adult Ballet
DFA’s adult ballet classes offer the opportunity to improve your mobility, posture, strength, co-ordination, balance and energy levels. You will also learn how to perform a wide variety of the beautiful, fluid and dynamic technical and artistic elements that are within classical ballet.
Ballet allows you to explore the whole range of what your body can do and also offers cognitive benefits. In one 21-year study funded by the National Institute on Aging, people who danced a few times a week had a 76 percent lower risk of dementia.
A wide selection of levels of classes are on offer every week (Monday to Thursday), ranging from beginners up to the more experienced dancer.
Our expert and popular adult ballet faculty comprises some of Scotland’s most wellknown and respected ballet tutors.
Jonathan Burnett teaches our Monday Classes (Beginners, Improvers and Pointe Work) and Monday Lunchtime (General)
Tracy Hawkes teaches the Tuesday Class (Advanced) and Monday Lunchtime (General)
Peter Twyman teaches the Wednesday and Thursday Classes (Improvers, Intermediate/Advanced and Pointe Work)
